About

Visions:

At 5 years post project, it is desirable that the project has resulted in;

  • 30% reduction in unused biomass fraction due to increased fraction of class one yield (10%) and increased utilization of unused biomass fractions (20%)
  • Reduced heat processing times (60 – 90%) compared to static retorting and thus reducing production costs and increase nutritional yield
  • A modeling tool for optimizing agitated processing and minimize product development costs, while improving food quality and convenience
  • Optimized strategies for exploitation of by-products
  • > 20 % increased turn-over for the food industry partners
  • Reduced expenses (taxes) related to waste deposition contributing to reduced costs for the industry partners
  • Availability of organic fertilizer strategies for Brassica and tomato based on waste (from field and storage) and side-flow (from processing) raw material resulting in reduced use of chemical pesticides concomitant with added value in crop production and human health

THE SUNNIVA PROJECT

  • Sustainable food production through quality optimized raw material production and processing technologies for premium quality vegetable products and generated by-products
